Well Placement - Do you really know where you are?
A day long course on wellbore surveying and its HSE/Well placement impact. Avoiding wells when drilling is obviously an important issue as is well placement and its impact on production and future field development. How well does the industry understand the science behind how we survey wells, and how we come to make well avoidance and geometric well placement decisions?

Core Workshop
The Core Workshop offers the opportunity to view well bore cores from three different areas of the North Sea (Northern, Mid North Sea and West of Shetland). Specialists will guide visitors through the specific features of the selected samples.

Young Professionals Event
The times of “easy oil” are almost over and in today’s oil and gas industry there are numerous challenges to economically produce difficult reserves. It is up to Young Professionals (YPs) as the future of the industry to not only design new means of extending the life of some of the world’s most prolific but declining basins, such as the North Sea, but also take risks in new challenging geographical areas to progress the industry as a whole.

Field Trip
This field trip ends the conference on the Thursday evening. Places are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. A coach will be available to take delegates from the AECC to the Crawton Lavas and back. Please note due to insurance requirements the Crawton Lavas Field Trip is only open to PESGB members.
